Robust Real-Time Face Tracking and Modeling from Video

Abstract Real-time face tracking and modeling from video have been a challenge in computer graphics and computer vision for many years. And it is widely used in the field of virtual reality such as Human-Machine interaction, computer games and film, virtual showman, etc. The two issues of real-time face tracking and modeling should be taken into consideration: how to generate facial features in the first frame of video automatically and how to improve the algorithmic efficiency of real-time face tracking and modeling. We develop a system to track face and model face from video in real time. Our system is integrated with auto-generation of face features of the first frame, image pyramid algorithm with Kalman filter and 3D reconstruction and face pose modeling. Experimental results show the high prospect of this algorithm.
